The BLM Methane Rule CRA resolution sought to overturn federal regulations limiting methane emissions from oil and gas operations on public lands, effectively removing requirements to reduce waste, capture emissions, and limit flaring. The measure passed the House 221–191, with Democratic crossovers voting Yea alongside Republicans. In the Senate, the resolution was defeated 49–51, with Susan Collins, Lindsey Graham, and John McCain casting decisive votes against it. Under Congressional Review Act rules, this defeat was final and unappealable, preserving the original methane regulation.
